Entrust TEFL Students volunteered their time at the Ministry of Social Development and human Security
Our TEFL course Chiang Mai students gave back to society and working towards the betterment of the Thai people is core to the Entrust TEFL philosophy. For that reason, trainees are officially required to undertake a certain amount of humanitarian work. For the students enrolled in July 2017, this meant a trip to Thammapakorn Welfare Development Centre for Older Persons, an institution overseen by the Department of Older Persons, a section of the Thai Ministry of Social Development and Human Security. The trainees gave offerings to monks and donated food for the elderly who reside there. They found it a humbling, fascinating, and rewarding experience. In the words of Entrust TEFL Director Patrick McNaughton: “We strive to immerse our TEFL students in Thai culture so that they can better understand their students and communities where they will be teaching English. And it feels good to do good!”
