Students can not produce a new language automatically, they need to be have controlled and strictly refined guidelines to assimilate to the linguistic differences of the second language. This is a very important chapter, as it will form the basis of most, if not all of your future lessons as a TEFL teacher. As a general rule, there are five principles: Warmer, Presentation, Practice, Production and Conclusion. The overriding objective being to engage, study, then activate student participation.
